Online Resources


Here you will find a number of online resources to learn about photography from the comfort of your home and at your own pace. It includes full program degrees, courses, webinars... Some resources are free, some offer paid courses or require a membership. Of course, there is always an infinite pool of resources available in media-streaming platforms like YouTube.com or Vimeo.com.

Coursera

It offers online courses and full degrees in many areas including photography in partnership with international universities.

Udemy

Online courses on all subjects including photography. Decently priced, specially when you wait for their regular sale campaigns.

Kadenze

Offers online courses and full programs. You will find free classes, paid,or by monthly payments. Not very extensive on photography, but you may still find some courses on the subject.

CreativeLive

Creative Live has live online webinars that you can watch for free or later download for a fee. They have a huge catalog of photography webinars in addition to other topics including art, music and crafts. Although the quality of the webinars is variable, it general it is quite good.

Bryan Peterson School of Photography

Recommended by one of our members who has taken several paid online courses and felt the courses were worth the money. You get critiques on photos that you upload based on the course lessons.

Better Photo used to have a lot of online courses but at this time have a limited selection.

Laura Shoe Digital Training

It offers mostly Lightroom training, but you can also find tutorials and webinars.

KelbyOne

One of the most well known sites is Scott Kelby: with some 700 video courses on photography, Photoshop and Lightroom. It's membership based, although you can get some trail courses for free.

PhaseOne

For people interested in Capture One Pro, the company does free (almost weekly) live webinars which are later available on You Tube

Digital Photography School

A lot of courses, tutorials and e-books created by international leading photographers.

Easy to read tips and tricks on the basics of photography and some more advanced topics.

Photography Life

A nice blog with tutorials, articles, detailed information and gear reviews.

Digital Photography Review

Probably the most solid source for camera specs and reviews.

PetaPixel

The Petapixel goal is to inform, educate, and inspire in all things photography-related. They have a nice set of short “How To”. You can also subscribe to their podcast to get photography news on the go .
