Living in Brussels during the last four years has given me the opportunity to explore this marvelous, sometimes underrated, but always photogenic city.
However, I chose to present here two photos I took in Israel, a place where the contradictions (Jews vs. Arabs, technology vs. religion, new vs. old, etc) might make life a bit more complicated but certainly create wonderful photo opportunities.
The two big cities, Tel Aviv and Jerusalem are the symbols of these opposites - the first is modern, secular, international, while the other ancient, religious, divided and conservative. The photo titled "Street Fashion" shows two Hasidic Jews with their traditional outfit, while the untitled scene from Tel Aviv-Jaffa shows a street artist a few minutes before his gig in a weekend fair. What can be more secular than that?
More examples of my photos can be found on my personal web site. I hope that its name summarizes my main goal – that of avoiding photo clichés.
