I was first introduced to photography in my early teens by my uncle, a keen photographer who recommended the Zenith Lomo as a good starter compact camera. It’s a neat little Russian model, with excellent specifications. Weighing in at 250g, it was perfect to have at hand at all times.
I progressed to digital photography a couple of years ago, but the size of my camera proved a disincentive to having it with me at all times. Bring back the Zenith Lomo! Now with the advent of smaller cameras in the form of the 4/3rds system, I look forward to trading in my current bulky camera for a smaller lightweight version and hopefully this will encourage me to take a lot more photographs.
The photographs I’m exhibiting are two landscapes that hold great memories for me. “Cinquantenaire under Snow” is of the Cinquantenaire park during the snowfall in January this year. A keen jogger, I have run here in all seasons, and never tire of the changing face of this beautiful park. To me this park sums up life in Brussels in general, rain or shine it is always teaming with life.
“Bethel – Maine Mountain Village” was taken during a tour of New England in October 2008. It’s a wonderful scenic area…and the Maine Lobster sampled just down the road from here wasn’t half bad either!
