Christine Athmann

German by origin, I moved to Brussels in 2004 for work. It was only then that I found my two main passions (which I try to combine whenever possible): Photography and Rollerblading.
I've always loved taking pictures, mostly of events or when I travelled, and I can sit for hours looking at photographs. When I joined Viewfinders in 2008 and attended my first workshops I became interested in improving my photographic approach.
I travel light with a Sony Cybershot H3 and I am in love with my Canon 20D. Although not really specialized I love to take pictures of people when they're either least expecting it or flirting with my camera. And then again I let myself be inspired by the moment. To get better images during my skating events is one of my higher goals.
The photographs I'm presenting in this exhibition were taken in December 2008 during this wonderful icy cold winter in Antwerp, and, yes, we mounted the Ferris Wheel and had a gorgeous view from there; and on a sailing & skating trip through Holland when we crossed the IJsselmeer.
