Brendan Barnes

I began taking photos in 2005, a few years after moving to Belgium. I see myself as at the stage of mastering the basics. As such, I look for scenes that are interesting and apply familiar rules and techniques. As you become more competent, you start to take charge of the picture.
The area I live in has very attractive woods and these became my first subject matter. Later, I added the Lake District and Cornwall, both reliable sources of inspiration. At the same time, I realised that there are interesting pictures to be taken almost anywhere.
