| My interest in photography started the day I bought a "Simon and Garfunkel" album and happened to come across the lyrics of the song: "Kodachrome You give us those nice bright colors You give us the greens of summers Makes you think all the world's a sunny day, oh yeah! I got a Nikon camera I love to take a photograph So Mama, don't take my Kodachrome away…" I thought there was something essential to learn from the capacity of photography to craft beauty, even from ugliness, to cheer you up, even if just for the second of the click, to make the world look sunny, even if that's just a lie… and not even interesting!. Through the years photography has served many more other purposes than those early trouble-free ones… not the least it has helped develop my love for this city of Brussels where I live and for its truly photogenic urban landscape. Thus, many years later I can still say "Please, don't take my Kodachrome away"… Oh, yeah! |
