Photo Biennial Oostende 2023 Visit

Photo Biennial Oostende 2023

The idea is to spend a “long afternoon” viewing some of the exhibitions and other displays at this event. We won’t be able to see everything – too much for a full weekend, even 😊.

The trip will take place on Sunday October 22nd..

Documentation about the event can be found at the links below (English, French and Dutch (“Parcours” also in German). Please download your documents of choice (they are PDF) but do not distribute the links further.

Note that the key venue, the Fort Napoleon, is a paid visit. A ticket costs €15 per person, but this also gives access to 4 of the other paying locations at the event - the “Amandine” (fishing boat), the Anglicaanse kerk (Anglican church), the James Ensorhuis* and “Peperbusse”. Tickets can be purchased in advance here: https://www.fotobiennale.be/en/buy-tickets

(* Access only to the Biennial section, not to the permanent exhibition)

We’ll start the tour at about 11 AM, giving time for people to arrive, and continue until 18:00 with suitable pauses for refreshments on the way. We’ll focus on map references 1 to 12 or 13: other locations depending on time and remaining energy levels.

A detailed plan will be worked out, taking number of attendees into account.

Transport

Trains from Brussels Central are at 8:56 (direct), 9:17 or 9:45 (both change in Gent), 9:56 (Direct): the last two arrive a little after 11:00 but we can wait 😉. Don’t forget the special weekend rate when getting tickets! (50% discount)

Car parking is available in various locations (though street parking is sparse), recommended Visserskaai (+/- € 16 to € 25 per day) https://rb.gy/tj5kg.
