Charleroi Photo Walk 2023

Photo Walk in Charleroi

Along a section of the 'Boucle Noir'

Sunday, November 19th @ 14:00

Meeting Point: Entrance of the Charleroi Central Train Station

The walk will start at Charleroi Central Station. We will follow the river Sambre on its left border (Western direction). The trail offers contrasting landscapes, all marked by the mining and steel industries. Some of the factories we will pass are still operating so we might be able to see huge machines at work.  We are planning to walk along the Sambre for about 3 km and then head back, which makes for a 6 km total walk.

This is only a short section of the 'Boucle Noir'. For those, who would like to continue further or would like to do so another day, here is the complete information about the full trail (12.8 km):

Transportation: You can drive and find parking near the station (some areas may still be under construction). You can take the train. There are trains from Gare Central in Brussels leaving hourly, on the hour, to “Luttre – Charleroi-Centrale” (Platform 6). You could take the 13:00 pm train which stops in Midi Station at 1:07 and arrives 1:57 pm at Charleroi Sud…so just in time for our RDV. For the return, trains depart at 4 minutes after the hour so 17:04, 18:04 etc. Please double check the times in case of changes.

As always, the walk is open to paid-up members of Viewfinders and their partner or guest.
